Fix one shot without starting over

One awkward shot doesn’t have to send you back to the beginning. Find the moment that breaks the story, decide what needs changing, and keep the parts you already like.

Made in Vixel2:22 film
Rue and the Crayon Rainforest ↗

In this archived portrait production, an unwanted graphic prompted a shot revision. The case study includes the rejected candidate and its replacement. Use that record to see a concrete correction, then return to your own project.

Let’s make: A clear next action for the shot that is blocked or does not match your film.

01

Separate a failed job from an unwanted result

First, open the exact shot you asked for. Is it still processing, did it fail, or did it finish with the wrong action? Those need different next steps.

If it’s still running, check that request rather than starting another. If it failed, read the reason and any recovery option. If it finished, tell Director what you see and what you wanted instead.

02

Say what to change and what to keep

Open the affected shot in the same project. Name one concrete correction and the details that must stay fixed. A request to make the whole film better can change more than you intended.

03

Resolve the blocker before retrying

Missing character or location references should be reviewed before the dependent scene image. Ask the Director what is missing before requesting the same shot again.

For a credit or access message, check the balance and current plan. Keep the existing project and completed results while resolving the issue. A retry may use credits; follow the displayed recovery and cost information rather than assuming a free retry or refund.

If the error does not identify a useful next step, contact support with the project link, affected shot, time and the visible message. Include a screenshot if it helps explain the issue.

04

Watch the neighboring shots again

A successful replacement can still break the edit. Compare its beginning and ending with the clips around it: character position, direction, props, timing and sound. Keep the new result only if it improves the sequence you are trying to make.

Continue in the existing project when making a repair. Tell the Director which shot you want to revise.
